I am an innovative and accomplished global marketing leader with extensive business-to-business marketing expertise. After holding senior marketing roles in consulting, investment management, banking, and consumer goods industries over the past 17 years, I understand what customers are looking for and what marketing teams must do to have the highest impact.
I currently head up global marketing for Boston Consulting Group’s health care team, who serve clients across the entire health care ecosystem, including biopharmaceuticals, medical devices and technology, health insurance companies, and health systems. Over the past few years, I have helped build a multi-faceted marketing program focused on expanding BCG’s presence in this very competitive arena. In this role, I have overseen a multi-million-dollar budget for social media, thought leadership, sponsorships, on-site and virtual events, media relations, advertising, and marketing campaigns.
Prior to joining BCG, I worked at Aon plc, a global professional services firm, where I was the Director and Head of Industry Marketing. I oversaw the marketing programs for the company’s 17 industry practice areas. Working closely with the leaders of these practice areas, I launched a variety of industry marketing campaigns, started various industry blogs, produced high-impact client event symposiums, and revamped the firm’s social media strategies, which all resulted in exceeding our business growth targets.
Before that, I worked at various global financial services firms and learned a great deal from each. As the head of global marketing at Calamos Investments, I built the international marketing infrastructure from scratch. And as the head of commercial banking segmentation marketing at Bank of Montreal, I created various innovative programs to drive profitable growth portfolios.
One of the highlights of my career has been participating in the highly selective and prestigious Adweek Executive Mentoring Program, where I had the opportunity to receive guidance on executive leadership from various eminent chief marketing and media officers. I especially enjoyed this program because I have myself mentored marketers just starting out in their careers.
Born and raised in Kenya, I have had the opportunity to travel around the world. No doubt it’s because of these experiences that I feel very comfortable in a global position. I love learning about other cultures and am a fervent believer in inclusivity.
I have a Masters in Science, Communications, from Northwestern University. I also hold an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, a Bachelor’s in Commerce from the Catholic University, Africa, and a Certificate in Predictive Analytics from DePaul University. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons, who keep me engaged in the world of sports, speed-cubing competitions, and flight-simulator apps. And I love running, Zumba, and HIIT workouts to recharge.
